Backpack Taiwan 2008

Part I (on the way to Taiwan)

And its time for our departure to Taiwan on the fateful 26th March 2008. I figured that we need not reach Changi Airport so early since there would be many people queueing up anyway. And i dont care if we're the last to board the plane. Just when i was still slowly taking my own sweet time, making my grand entrance into T1, a flustered laoshu called and told me that the boarding time was 12pm (which i thought was the check-in time). Therefore, i ran to the counter with my 2 backpacks, met up with laoshu and then sped up the boarding gate, only to realise that we are actually the FIRST to check in! (-__-"). Stupid jetstarairways stated "boarding time" as "check-in" time at the counter. (-__-")x2. Yeah so, we ended up wasting almost 2 hrs doing nothing in the boarding area. Okays, maybe not exactly nothing. We spent time watching people strolling into the boarding area. But then again, we're on a holiday! so nothing will be able to ruin our sky-high mood! weeeeeeeee!

Not too long after, kiasu people started queueing up at the boarding gate. (which i dont really understand when we already have seats allocated to us. So why bother whether you're the 1st or last to board the plane?)

Ms kiasu aka chenlaoshu also went in to join the fun.

Finally on the plane. Not to mention COMFORTABLY in our seats!

So what's the first thing any normal person would do after boarding a plane? --> feel comfortable! and thus explains the appearance of our colourful little socks.

Time for some fun, which, in my opinion, is to irritate chenlaoshu! HAHAHA

Sock fight!

After the strenuous sock fight, chenlaoshu started having ill designs on my pink dolphin!

errrrmmms, i have no idea how it turned out like that.

i think she's praying, shhh.

And to reinstate my point of COMFORTABLE, looooooook at the amount of leg space we have.

Jetstar aint so budget afterall. HOHOHO!

HAHAHA this picture kept me laughing for quite some time! Dont ask me how "The Eye" came about.

we started laughing so hard (and loud) after this picture that i suspect everyone in the plane was observing us! But, who cares~

While on the topic of ugly-takglam photos, how can we leave out the Champ-of-ALL-Champs?!

Hence, she should also have a go at "The Eye"

i think my pink dolphin is extremely photogenic, dont you think so? All signs of dirt and old age are close to none. HOHOHO.

we shot like a zillion pictures of her. HAHA cuz she's just sooooo cute! not to mention PRETTY! So, for the rest of the flight, we spent our time playing with her.

We've already introduced our nephews to her. HAHAHAHA

maybe thats why xiaomeimei stopped playing with us. HAHAHA

Finally we touched down at Taiwan's Taoyuan Airport!

Naruwan, Taiwan! (although i dont know what Naruwan means *shrugs*)

1st thing we did: --> got ourselves a youth travel card (or tag, as it turned out to be). we had thought it would provide us with many discounts and free services as seen on the Internet. But it turned out to be just a pretty bag tag. (-__-") diaoX100.

okays, gonna get some sleep while on the bus to Taipei MRT Station. gonna chiong night market later!

After getting ourselves (together with all our luggages on our back) lost for a long while, we finally reached our hostel!

Taipei Ximen Backpackers!

To all who wants to experience good yet budget accommodation, i strongly recommend this hostel. The staff are extremely friendly! and they have the thickest and most comfortable blanket! LOve their blanket to bits! After sleeping under that thick and comfortable blanket for a few days, i've come to despise my own thin miserable one at home.

Well, either that. or its your sucky camera.

i believe its the latter. HAHAHA.

Anyways, after snooping around Ximending's night market for our dinner, we got cheated into a 名歌餐厅(okay, i admit. truth is, i was the dumb kkblk), which i niavely thought will be playing hip songs like wala. To my ultimate dismay, not only did the guy sing songs which i didnt recognise, but also uber duper slow lullabies.

Jan bought me a cake while Young and Ice celebrated my super belated birthday til the wee hours! So happy! Extremely touched! so sweet of them!
